Mary Lou Retton’s Flip Flop Shop Sharing Our Feelings (Inspirational Version)

Mr. Bump arrives at the Flip Flop Shop with an unusual delivery - armloads of ’mood boxes!“ As each of the different boxes is opened, everyone starts acting very strangely - with sadness, laughter. crying, fear, joy - all different feelings! These different emotions have the group completely tospy-turvy until they start to understand where their feelings come from and what they mean. Mary Lou ends with the message that our feelings can be very powerful, but they are a natural part of growing. She encourages children to talk about their feelings with someone like Mom or Dad, or a teacher or other grown-up friend so that they might be able to understand their feelings.
