Andrew Tanenbaum demonstrates automatic recover from faults in MINIX 3 at the Embedded World Exhibition in Nuremberg. He intentionally injects faults into MINIX 3 crashing part of the system, but within a fraction of a second, MINIX automatically repairs itself and continues operating, without applications even noticing the crash.
