22 Family Members Killed. How A Doctor From Gaza Still Carries Hope | Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish

Izzeldin Abuelaish is a Palestinian medical doctor, currently residing in Toronto where he serves as Professor of Clinical public health and Global Health at the University of Toronto. Dr. Abuelaish, a medical doctor, born in the Jabalia refugee camp, became the first Palestinian from Gaza to hold a Staff position in an Israeli hospital. In 2009, he lost three daughters and one niece when his house was shelled by Israeli forces. He went on to write books, about his and the Palestinian trauma and tragedy: “I shall not hate: A Gaza Doctor’s Journey on the road to Peace and Human Dignity”. Tragedy struck again just a few weeks ago, when 22 members of his family were killed in the current Israeli genocide against the Gaza population.
