The publication of this video may seem somewhat incoherent, considering that this prelude, which is part of the so-called “eight short preludes and fugues“, should not actually have been written by Bach himself but by one of his pupils (there are some indications of this, such as the doubling of octaves) and that the focus of this channel is on Lithuanian piano literature. Nevertheless, I have chosen to do so in order to make it clear that the 150th anniversary, which already applied to Naujalis in 2019 and applies to Reger (by whom organ works will be heard here this year) in 2023, also applies to Čiurlionis in two years’ time.
