George Foreman was a boxing legend long before his fight with Michael Moorer. His 72-4 boxing record read like a who’s who in boxing from the past 25 years and included ring legends such as Joe Frazier, Mohammad Ali, Chuck Wepner, George Chuvalo, Ken Norton, Ron Lyle, Jimmy Young, Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Bert Cooper, Gerry Cooney, Evander Holyfield, Jimmy Ellis and most recently Tommy Morrison. He was a former WBC and WBA World Heavyweight champion having beaten Joe Frazier in 1973 before losing them to Muhammad Ali in one of the most famous fights in all of boxing, the Rumble in the Jungle in 1974. Following the loss to Ali, Foreman beat Ron Lyle to claim the vacant NABF Heavyweight title and defended it successfully in a rematch with Joe Frazier.
