Perfume History: L’Eau de la Reine de Hongrie (Hungary Water)

Exploring the first “modern” perfume in history: Eau de la Reine de Hongrie. By “modern” I mean one that is alcohol based and that precipitated the art of fine fragrances in Europe and the rest of the world. Stick around until the end to witness me try my hand at recreating the perfume and giving my impressions of it. IMPORTANT CAVEAT about perfume history is that it is currently very “Eurocentric” for the moment. The world of perfumery is still playing a catchup game to get the full story. Please note that many things were happening around the world of scents when this presumed “first modern perfume” appeared so by no means do I declare anything I am saying in this video as an absolute and immutable truth.
