ATOMIC ALERT. 1951 Cold War Classroom Film on Atom Bomb Attack.

It’s frightening some of what children in post war America had to sit through in class. Produced by Encyclopedia Britannica Film Division that film was indicative of the kind of material this was part of curricular during the cold war era. While material like this was made to alleviate fears it probably created a whole set of new ones as well. Like the classic Duck and Cover film the advice on this piece would do little to save anyone’s life. This film fell into the public domain in 1979 due to lack of copyright renewal.
