Syria: Govt. forces air-drop tons of aid to besieged city of Deir ez-Zor

More than 30 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered on Saturday by air from Hmeymim Airbase to the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor, with large parts of the city blocked by Islamic States (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants. The delivery was conducted by a Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft of the Syrian Air Forces and was accompanied by Russian Sukhoi Su-30 jets. The cargo was dropped with four parachute platforms.
