JUDGMENT CALL TRAILER for “ A Judge Dredd Fan Film“

During the Coronavirus Lockdown of 2020 whilst my family and I were at home, I had an idea of possibly making a short film involving my family as I had a fair bit of filming equipment and thought I would put it to good use during this time. One of the main reasons for wanting to make a short film was to keep us all creatively entertained as a family, and it would be a great distraction to what was happening all around the world at that time. I phoned one of my dearest friends Drew Casson who is a VFX artiste and after explaining what I was hoping to do I asked him if he wouldn’t mind adding some VFX to enhance the scenes I would shoot. At this point I didn’t have a script just a basic idea. Drew loved the idea and gladly agreed do so as it would also keep him occupied during this time at home. By the end if the 2nd week of the Lockdown we had basically become like a full-blown film Production. Between my wife, son, daughter, and myself we had started to build a couple of sets, props, costumes, weapons, and applying Prosthetic make up. I All at home.! I also phoned a very talented Artiste friend of mine Jason Caballero who made me some great decals and some 3D printed Logos for me. When we started filming, I would email Drew every evening and send over all the completed footage we had shot that day, he would then edit all the footage and start to add some VFX. Drew was also filming stuff at his home with his family whilst also making costumes, applying Prosthetic Make up to his Mum, ,Dad and Sister. A while back before the covid outbreak I had started to direct a short film but due to unforeseen circumstances the shoot was never completed, and I was only able to shoot 3 scenes. (But that’s another Story...!) But after looking at what we had been shooting It looked like it might be possible to add this new footage, add another story element and possibly add this to my uncompleted film. It was never planned this way, but it looked like it could work. Once the Lockdown Restrictions had been lifted, we decided to continue Filming with our friends and family, but we never managed to complete the film as most had to return to work. But so far, we have managed to make a 35-minute Judge Dredd Fan Film, although not completed yet, we are hoping to finish it later this year or the early part next year. I hope you enjoy the trailer as much as we enjoyed making our film..!
