First Nintendo commercial? Mego “Time-Out“ Toss-Up (1980)

This is a newly restored commercial for the Mego “Time-Out“ Toss-Up toy... which you might know better as the Game & Watch: Ball handheld! In the United States, the Game & Watch was originally released through the Mego toy company. We believe this advertisement, produced by DuRona Productions, is the first American commercial for a Nintendo product. The Video Game History Foundation helped recover this 16mm film, which was acquired by historian Chris Kohler. The film had significantly degraded, but our film vendor, Movette Film Transfer, was able to digitally restore most of the color.
