At it’s core, Crisis Force is fairly typical in terms of core mechanics, but it’s the weapon system which sets it apart. Essentially, there are two weapon configurations available to the player, which can be upgraded or alternates between by collecting red or blue tokens dropped by enemies. The active weapon system then dictates which shot patterns and configurations are available for use, which can be cycled at will. It’s a neat system, adding variety to the gameplay, as well as allowing the player to choose weapons which suit their play-style.
