That red tassel would be the inspiration for this tune. There are a few theories as to why the ancient Chinese would decorate their weaponry as such. Some say it’s a simple decoration that just stuck for the sake of tradition. Other reasons were more practical, such as a distraction against the opponent’s vision, or to absorb the excess blood that would flow down to the hands otherwise.
