CYSTIC FIBROSIS (MUCOVISCIDOSIS) Postural Drainage and Breathing Exercises. Demonstrated by The Staff of the Department of Physical Medicine, The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street London, WC1. Produced under the auspices of the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation Trust, London Children at play in hospital surroundings. Exercising on gym equipment, playing catch, on a rocking-horse. A nurse points to a diagram showing a child’s lungs and diaphragm. The nurse demonstrates on several children how to stimulate lung activity. Two girls demonstrate their arm swinging chest exercises. A nurse shows a mother how to tap the back of her son who looks on. She demonstrates on a pillow. The nurse is then seen tapping the backs of young children and babies and doing further breathing exercises with the children - blowing balls of cotton wool and bubbles.
