VFX Explosions in Houdini

By popular request, today we’re starting out a new shot — an explosion! After looking at some reference and backgrounds, Daniel is ready to dive in. Explosions are easy enough to set up for a basic look, and there are plenty of presets you can use in Houdini, but to make something look truly realistic is a challenge. Let’s go!
