Whether it’s pie or Pi, there’s circles involved. The value commonly known as -- celebrated on March 14th, or 3/14 -- refers to the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. But, it’s got a place in everyday life as well as complicated mathematical equations. Since Pi is never ending (and never repeating), computer scientists and engineers have been competing -- for no reason other than to test the limits of computing power and for fun -- to beat the record for most digits of Pi accurately calculated.
