The Crossbeats - Where Are They Taking My Lord (1972?)

The Crossbeats were a Liverpool Christian beat group who from 1963 thru the 1970s played in churches, clubs, coffee bars, prisons and colleges in the UK and, in the summer of 1970, on a short tour of the USA (Dayton Ohio, Arlington Virginia, Scottville Michigan). This is a home recording probably in early 1972, never released. Tony Mathias (vocals), Eddie Boyes (bass and vocals), John Boyes (lead guitar and vocals), Sam Pennington (rhythm), Joe Roberts (drums and vocals) - fourth line- Where ... are they taking my Lord? Where ... are they taking my Lord? Friends were sleeping, the Son of Man was praying “Father I must do Your will“ A crowd is coming, staves and swords are bringing Whom they arrest, a kiss will tell This was their hour, and the power of darkness was with them They dare not take Him in the day Innocent maybe, but He knew what had to be All of His friends had to flee away
