Hero Cop Sprints Across Frozen Lake To Save Stranded Dog in Daring Rescue

This is the moment a brave New York cop walks across the thin ice on a water body and rescues a trapped dog and drowning dog. The rescue took place in the town of Lewiston in Niagara County in the US state of New York last week. Lewiston Police Department shared the footage on social media on 5th January with the message: “Well folks he’s done it again. After just receiving a department award for pulling a woman from a burning house, this time it was a 4-legged friend. “Officer Jonathan Smith arrived at Bonds Lake after a dog named Cona had fallen through the ice and was trapped in the water about 50 yards from shore. Without hesitation he jaunted across the ice, removed his equipment and went in after him, bringing him safely back to land and reuniting him with his owner.” The police added: “By the way, we gave him a 6 out of 10 on the landing in the beginning, but a 10 out of 10 for the rescue.” The daredevil officer had only just received a bravery award for pulling a woman from a burning building.
