“Alfie“ is a song written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David to promote the 1966 film Alfie. Dionne Warwick; born as Marie Dionne Warrick on December 12, 1940) is an African American singer, actress and TV-show host. Warwick belongs to the 40 biggest hit makers of the entire rock era. Dionne grew up in a very musical family in New Jersey. She started a singing group together with her aunt and her sister named: “The Gospelaires”. When The Gospelaires collaborated on a song by the Drifters, the songwriter of the song: Burt Bacharach came to listen. He discover Dionne and invited her to sing some demos. Her first single: “Don’t make me over” was released in 1962 but they had misspelled her name (Warwick instead of Warrick). Ever since she decided to keep this name.
