30-Day American Phonetic Challenge | Day 9: Sound a:

Hey! I’m Alex, and it’s Day 9 of my challenge. Today’s sound is /ɑ:/ which in American English is usually given by the letter O in a closed syllable (as in not, got or bother), but be careful, because it also might be /ʌ/ from Day 1 (as in won or mother). We’ll compare them later. Also the letter A will often give it (calm, art or father). Let’s do it! 1. Calm father will not bother. 2. I’ve got the robber’s hot rod and a lot of pots. 3. Hopping on a mop over palms to the top. 4. That popular art contest isn’t hard, you retard! 5. Drop the bomb on the farm’s barn! 6. It’s not a bot, Scott! You shot the mascot! Support the challenge, leave a like, and a comment. See ya tomorrow!
