He didn’t pop off to the shop, place a few bets with his bookie, go for coffee with the parakeet down the street, then fly back home to unlock his cage and get back in again. He is a bird in a cage. You don’t make it out alive, someone just takes off and leaves your ass in the dust when you live in a fucking cage.
