Fixing a Tube Bulb and making it work.

When you turn on a fluorescent tube, if it does not light up and does not flicker, you should first make sure that the fixture is plugged in and that the fuse has not blown or that the circuit breaker has not been tripped. If this does not assist, try moving the tube gently back and forth and side to side in its sockets. If this does not help, try wiggling the tube gently in its sockets. The ballast in a fluorescent light receives electricity, which causes it to send a spark through the tube (or bulb) that is filled with mercury vapor. This causes the phosphors that are coated on the interior of the tube to become activated, so producing light. The light won’t function properly if even one of the components isn’t working properly.
