Lady Gaga: “Born This Way“ is The Birth of a New Race

Hey what’s up guys, I’m Bridget Daly for ClevverMusic, breaking down the new Lady Gaga video. By now, most of you have probably seen “Born This Way,“ and are a little confused about what it all means. Luckily Gaga talked to BBC Radio and cleared things up a little. She said, and I quote, “It’s the story about the birth of a new race. A race that bears no prejudice and a race that’s primary sort of ambition in life is to inspire unity and togetherness.“ Gaga says she had a “sublime“ time working on the video, calling it something she’s very proud of. As with most things in Gaga’s life, she was very hands-on with the vid, helping to write it with U.K. filmmaker and fashion photographer Nick Knight and choreographing with Laurieann Gibson. Gaga says the video was inspired by surrealist painters Salvador Dalí and Francis Bacon. She said it was important to show her fans what was going on in her head when she wrote “Born This Way.“ So we’ll go ahead and guess that her head was full of half-naked dancers, de los muertos and machine guns!!!
