Ksenia Barbasheva & Alexander Taranov (of the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre) perform Alexey Miroshnichenko’s pas de deux “Nocturne” on the Russian Culture Television production of “Bolshoi Ballet” (. Big / Grand Ballet). This piece is truly astounding. The more I see of Miroshnichenko’s work, the more spell-bound I am by the intricacies of his choreographic style. This piece is particularly striking. It is one that requires a minute to recover after the dance ends. I made a few edits to the video performance and changed the music to the song “Idiotique” by Radiohead. However much I love this song and dance together, it could never hold a candle to the dance as it is set to its actual music. So please watch the real thing!! —
