The UK Touring includes Fred Johanson as Pilate, who reprised his role in the 2000 movie version of JCS, and who played later Judas in the Essen production. This stage version, directed by Gail Edwards, is a good example of the modern staging. After the succes of the London Lyceum vision in 1996 the touring started its run in 1998, in a renewed form, and lasted to 2005 with some changes in the cast.
