Mushroomhead - Simple Survival (one-take vocal cover)

I found Mushroomhead back in 2005. I was fifteen years old, and I totally fell in love with Simple Survival, Burn, and Sun Doesn’t Rise. Fast-forward to 2018 when my band Tallah got to tour with A Killer’s Confession. It took me about a week to realize AKC’s singer was Waylon Reavis from Mushroomhead, and I was so honored to share the stage with him. He is such a cool, talented, down-to-earth guy, treats people with respect, and I am proud to call him a friend. For anyone wondering, my screaming technique is false cord screaming, not fry. I can do both, but I prefer false cord 99% of the time. In this song, I add a lot of glottal compression into the false cord to get some pitch. It is a tricky technique and a bit risky, but it sounds so cool once you g
