Three Tricks for Ukulele Showboating (impress family and friends!) ;-)

I decided to revive a few ukulele showboating techniques/tricks (called exhibition strokes) from Roy Smeck’s ukulele method book from 1928. This video shows how to do a Roy Smeck “Figure 8“ ukulele stroke and another albeit modified zigzag stroke. Here are the zigzag stroke chords: Bb 3211 F 2010 A7 0100 Dm 2210 I then go into other unrelated techniques: a pseudo guitar whammy bar vibrato effect, and how to flip the bird (your uke) during a song. hehe It ends with some Strauss on the uke arranged by Petey using the aforementioned techniques and called “Thus Uked Zarathrustra.“ I hope this gives you some musical inspiration on the uke! Zarathrusta TABs: You might catch that I start with the circle stroke (around the clock) but I don’t explain it. Just use your nail of the index finger on the way down and the pad of the index finger on the way up. Ukuleles: new Martin 2k concert, new Martin 2k tenor, Martin 3 cherry
