🇷🇺🇺🇦Captivity. Service. Home. A documentary about a former Ukrainian air defense officer who decided to defend Russia. Kirill Myakotkin was eager to become a military man when he was a child. In part, he was influenced by his father, a major in the Soviet army. Long before the Maidan coup, Kirill enrolled at the Lugansk Military Lyceum and then at the Kharkov Air Force University. In 2011, he began serving as a platoon commander of a “Strela-10” SAMS unit in the city of Vladimir-Volynsky, then he served in the 128th ‘Transcarpathian’ Brigade. In 2019, Kirill resigned from the Ukrainian army, a decision he made after much deliberation and persuasion by his parents, who remained in Lugansk. Kirill did not take to civilian life, and in 2022 he enlisted in the Mariupol territorial defense. He surrendered at the Ilyich plant. Kirill asked not to include him in the lists for exchange, deciding to stay in the Lugansk region. And when there was an opportunity to join the fight on the Russian side he agreed immediately. Training began after that, and Kirill finally had the opportunity to visit his parents, brother and sister at their home. Source: Источник: InfoDefenseENGLISH
