David Peel on the Upper East Side 2 16 1991

Since I was promoting a concert on Valentine’s day 1991 I was not able to go see and interview David Peel at his show in support of the North Coast chapter of NORML in Cleveland that same night. We both suffered greatly from a big blizzard that hit us that day and neither of us had much of a turnout at our respective shows. Fortunately for us, David was staying in town for a few days and was able to come to my house where we did this fabulous interview - well, perhaps ’interview’ is the wrong term, since I asked him to ’briefly’ tell the audience who he was and he launched into a full-on bio of himself and what he had done from the mid-1960s through 1991. he’s a funny guy, played some songs and we all had a great afternoon. He had come to the house with a migraine but it was gone by the time he left some three hours or so later (no, the presentation was nowhere near that long!!).
