We FOUND America’s RAREST Dung Beetle in Our DOG’S POOP!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!

Amazing wildlife can live in some of the most unimaginable places and today our goal is to use a very commonly occurring item to lure in one of the most extraordinary insect species in all of North America! The item we are talking about Dog Poop. Yes, you read correctly! The insect we are trying to find is a beautiful and rare dung beetle species called a Rainbow Scarab and their entire life revolves around fresh and stinky dung piles! We are stationed in the middle of a beautiful Wildlife Management Area in Eastern North Carolina. The area is an open pine tree savanna with loose sandy soil which makes it the perfect habitat for these unique beetles to carry out their life cycles. As longtime insect enthusiasts and collectors, we have always wanted to find and catch one of these beetle and they have been eluding us for many years! This is the last day of our trip out East visiting our friend Alex and we have got to make it count, so join along with us, and let’s see if we can figure out a way to make this dream of ours to catch this beetle a reality!!!
