More than 820,000 homes and businesses are without power in Michigan after the devastating ice storm. One of the state’s largest electricity providers said the ice had caused “extraordinary damage“ to its power infrastructure. The company says several people are still without power in the freezing cold, and downed power lines are also creating dangerous conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather summary for several areas of the country, home to more than 13 million people.
