Elma Niacci - Il n’y a Pas d’Amour Heureux (inspired by Georges Brassens)
“ Il n’y a Pas d’Amour Heureux “ was originally a poem written in 1943 by French writer Louis Aragon, depicting a vision of love as an absolute inaccessible, also including references to the French Resistance in the original text. The poem was turned into a song in 1953 by French singer Georges Brassens, later covered by artists like Nina Somone or Barbara.
Here’s a 2022 instrumental interpretation of Georges Brassens’ musical interpretation of Louis Aragon’s poem.
