The host is the well known Willem Duys. Sarah Lois Vaughan was born in Los Angeles (1924-1990). She is one of the greatest American jazz singers of all times. Sarah Vaughan was born in a very musical family. Her father Jake was a carpenter and played the guitar and piano. Her mother Ada was a laundress who sang in the church choir. Sarah grow up in a deeply religious family and began playing the piano at the age of seven in the church. Sarah became friends with George Treadwell who also played the trumpet.
