On April 2, 1973, three years after the Beatles’ dissolution, the famous “Red“ album was released on the Apple Records label. It featured 26 hit songs recorded over five years, from “Love Me Do“ in October 1962 to “Yellow Submarine“ in August 1966. This release was initiated by their manager, Allen Klein. The existence of this album at the time was more a result of Klein’s opportunism, and he was also responsible for the tracklisting. It was released alongside its counterpart, “The Beatles 1967 – 1970,“ known as the “Blue“ album. These compilations allow us to appreciate the evolution and enormous impact of the most significant band in history over a mere decade, with eight years of active existence.
