Denver Police Officers Shoot Knife-Wielding Trans Woman at Downtown intersection

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Denver, Colorado — On June 16, 2024, around 11:45 a.m., Denver Police Officers were called for a report about a person standing in the busy intersection with a knife in the area of Broadway and Lawrence Street. When officers arrived, they confronted the person, 52-year-old Miguel Tapia and gave commands to drop the knife. However, Tapia refused and began advancing toward the officers. As Tapia got closer with the knife drawn, both officers opened fire, 12 shots in all, and Tapia fell motionless into the street. Police rendered aid to Tapia after the shooting, and an ambulance arrived quickly, but Tapia was pronounced dead at the scene.
