Royal Ascot (1932)

Full title reads: “Ascot. Royal Ascot opened with delightful weather - beautiful women in still more beautiful frocks - the World’s finest racehorses - the Royal Procession, all made a glowing picture of colour & beauty - unsurpassed in the world.“ Ascot Race course, Berkshire. Royal Procession along the race course. An open horse drawn carriage brings Queen Mary and King George V past grandstands full of waving crowds. More royals are brought in another carriage. Views of King George V, Queen Mary, Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor) and others in Royal Box. Views of horse racing, intercut with shots of the royals using binoculars to watch the action. The horses race past the finishing post - a bookie in the foreground is doing tic-tac. Pan across people in the crowd. Upper class people walk around - the men are in top hat and tails, the ladies in summer dresses and hats. (One woman is wearing an eye patch). Lots of ladies showing off their ’posh’ frocks. Sound Track Miss
