As we reach the fourth song of the pack, we can’t just quit now, for “You Really Got A Hold OnMe” is up next. The first song recorded during the “With the Beatles sessions, “You Really Got A Hold On Me” shows the band’s take on the 1962 track by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles. While the original song did not achieve much success in the band’s home country of the United Kingdom, the band became aware of the songs existence due to imported copies arriving from the United States, where the song was a major success. The band then began experimenting with their take on the song shortly after. The cover was revisited in 1969 during the Let It Be sessions, originally planned for inclusion as part of a medley for the album. While the plans for this medley was scrapped,the song did appear in the “Let It Be” documentary. Originally Released October 5th, 2020.
