Le Mans, France. Start of the Le Mans 24-hour race - great sports car classic race. LV. Drivers rushing across the road to their cars. TV. The cars rushing out of the pits and beading down the track. SV. Cars racing past just after the start. TV. Cars heading under the arch “Made by the Dunlop“ sign. TV. Cars taking an s-bend in the country. GV. A very sharp corner with one car streaking round. So far it has not been possible to identify any cars. GV. Jaguar, car No 2, takes a corner and streaks off down the track. GV. Cars racing past in front of the stands showing the memorial to the 1955 crash in the foreground. TV. Cars No 2 and No 11 in a collision at Tertre Rouge corner. Car No 2 stopped on the side of the track, car No 3 behind, facing the wrong way, is just stopping and car No 11 hits car No 3. GV. Two cars taking corner not possible to identify. CU. Jaguar, car No 3, beside the track with the front bashed in, the driver looking at it. TV. Car No 51, Panhard - crashes later. CU. A steering wheel.
