This is a fun one! (Contents below) I spent a great amount of time considering what the best items to carry everyday (EDC) in my pockets should be. In this video I go through the decision making process, technical requirements and day to day use-cases that shape what I consider to be my ultimate every day pocket carry kit. Part 2: While designing this system I concluded there would be two kinds of use-case for the things I would carry in my pockets, and defining them made it much easier to work out exactly what should go into the kit. The two main purposes to keep things in your pockets are for convenience and to deal with unexpected situations. You can then create a set of tools to accommodate those situations. For me, this meant preparing for things like first aid situations, tick bites, things breaking, power cuts and general repairs. That is the ’unexpected’ use-case.
