MEE correspondent, Mohammed al-Hajjar, showcases the dire state of Gaza City’s al-Shifa hospital, the largest medical facility in the besieged strip, which shelters stranded, critically-ill and wounded people, amidst the temporary four-day truce. “It is lacking medical crews and services and drinking water and electricity.” Hajjar reports that the majority of the injured are women and children with nowhere to go, who call for urgent relief. The Israeli army raided Shifa hospital after repeatedly saying that al-Shifa was a “command and control centre“ for Hamas.
