Although a majority of South Koreans do not eat dog meat and views dogs as family, the reason why this is still happening in Korea is that dog meat isn’t included under the Livestock Processing Act of 1962. Hence, such cruel and unsanitary methods are employed unlike for beef, pork, or poultry.
