Panning L/S of crowds gathered around bandstand outside Crystal Palace (good view of famous glass palace). M/S of small tent in front of bandstand, a policeman stands guard in front of it. M/S of men carrying brass instruments coming off bandstand. M/S of group of men cheering and waving brass instruments in air. Intertitle reads: “I’m playing in 1946“. C/U of little boy sitting on steps. He wears military-style uniform. He scratches his head as he reads a sheet of music, he has a trombone tucked under his arm. M/S of a man holding up a tuba so the little boy can blow through it. He giggles at camera. Second version starts at 01:19:25. Almost identical to first, followed by out takes / cuts at 01:20:57.
