MALEVOLENCE | Keep Your Distance - WITH TAB

LEARN THIS SONG!!! IT GIVE YOU GREAT RIGHT HAND!!! First things first, the tabs! GP5: PDF: So this is the band that reminded me a lot of Stick To Your Guns, but with actual metal riffs. Malevolence have a lot of different influences, so they remind me of a lot more bands haha. I also hear a lot of Bleed From Within in their music as well. Anyway, they are one of my new favourite bands. I only recently discovered them. Their genre mix was weird at first but I love them! I liked this song so much that I just had to make a video, with a tab of course. To the tab: I made some changes to my tab “style“. When I write music I almost always have a “main“ guitar track. Harmony is often an afterthought for me. For my personal tabs I always start with that main guitar track. Since this song only has a few harmonies, I decided to use that kind of style, so the harmony track only features the harmonies and nothing else. That’s how I tab my personal music. Other things: In the intro section, the higher lead guitar plays a slighly different rhythm in that one bar. It’s kind of weird, but I listened back to the record very closely and it seems to be like that. The harmony part where I play a glissando is also a bit weird. The last three notes don’t have a distinct attack, they are kind of smudged together with a heavy vibrato (or glissando) at the end. I’m not sure how common a glissando vibrato is these days in metal music, but it sounds like it and that’s how I play it in the video. There’s also another harmony later in the song, the one with the octaves. It sounds different on the cd, more like a fourth interval, but I watched live videos and they seem to play octaves. That’s it basically about the tab. The song is super fun to play and a great right hand chop-builder. I can only recommend it to my regulars, even if you guys are more into tech death stuff. Enjoy the video ;-)
