Connecticut State Police Trooper Shoots Knife-Wielding Man During Court-Ordered Eviction

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Brooklyn, Connecticut — On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., a State Marshal went to at 29 Tiffany Street, Apartment 5, Brooklyn, Connecticut, to evict the tenant, 59-year-old Byron Harvey, pursuant to an order issued by the Housing Court. The State Marshal had information that Harvey had a large canine at the residence and arranged for two Animal Control Officers to be present during the planned eviction. When no one answered the door, the State Marshal contacted the Connecticut State Police for assistance. Connecticut State Trooper Yeung arrived on scene. Using a key provided by the landlord, the State Marshal, Trooper Yeung, and the Animal Control Officers entered the apartment. Once inside, Trooper Yeung observed Harvey who was holding a large knife in his right hand. Trooper Yeung requested backup and other Troopers, including Trooper Romello Lumpkin, arrived on scene.
