Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court

In celebration of UAE-Korean Cultural Dialogue, Korean Cultural Center in the UAE and National Palace Museum of Korea are opening online exhibition “Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court“. Exhibition Period: 1 July - 23 September 2021 Virtual Exhibition Link: The exhibition will introduce a total of 17 relics especially utilized on walls and sliding doors in the royal court to express the King’s dignity and majesty and to wish the prosperity of the nation and wellbeing of the royal families during the Joseon Dynasty which lasted for 500 years, from 1392 to 1910. “Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court“ showcase a variety of formats such as screens spread behind the living spaces, paper sliding doors, and wall paintings drawn directly on the walls or silk or paper pasted on the wall.
