The Bombay Royale makes an exhilarating return with their second album, The Island of Dr Electrico. From their unlikely beginnings in the suburban wilds of Melbourne, The Bombay Royale have taken their unique sounds to audiences throughout Europe, the UK and the US, where their performances have been met with astonishment and critical acclaim. 2012 saw the release of The Bombay Royale’s debut album, You Me Bullets Love, featuring a combination of dazzling original tunes and re-workings of long-forgotten Bollywood production numbers. The album demonstrated the band’s evolution from interpreters of 1960s and 1970s Bollywood soundtracks, to creators of a new and completely original music which synthesises Indian classical and folk music with Western styles such as surf, rock, disco and The Island of Dr Electrico live in RN’s Melbourne studios.
