Sonata in C Major: Allegro (Galuppi) – Pep Organ, Klop Chamber Organ

Baldassare Galuppi (1706-1785), though not well-known today, was one of the most famous composers of his time. A Venetian of international fame, his music championed the new galant idiom with his tuneful melodies and thin homophonic textures. This little keyboard work demonstrates his Venetian flair with its rapid melodic flourishes against a light accompaniment. Galuppi’s works must have sounded astonishingly new and lively compared to the preceding Baroque era. If you enjoy this video, please subscribe to Pep Organ for a new upload every Saturday. #PepOrgan
