Why does everyone seem to trade after the facts? / The Russel Journal Nightly Update

Some days the markets seem so stupid. I’ll tell you after chasing every bit of news for 2 years. I can’t help but wonder why these people risk their money before the news and not after the news. This accounts for news good and bad. It also blows my mind on how we pay for stocks based on tomorrows earnings but their value is always what I can sell them for today. They add the elements of danger and loss to any speculation and the fact that it should ever sell off or down. Don’t get me wrong, I get how this all works and I even get why it works but sometimes I can’t help but wonder if their wouldn’t be a better way. So today I review my trade in hindsight and feel so lucky to have just made money that it become difficult to understand what is really going on. It’s hard to trade when you can’t see the big picture or at least for me it is. The truth is how I traded today has nothing to do with how I will trade tomorrow that is unless I let it.
