contemporary | floor work | partnering | ROSER LÓPEZ ESPINOSA

Contemporary dance classes based on floor work, partnering work and simple acrobatic sequences led by dancer and choreographer Roser López Espinosa from Barcelona. This training approaches movement from the basis of an articulated, soft, agile, fast and powerful body, taking advantage of the movement capacity of the spine as a motor: curves, spirals, twists, riples and combined ondulating movements. We go through floor work, with rolls, glides, simple acrobatic movements and jumps. We do partnering exercises, from couple and group lifts and connections to building up architectures of “several bodies linked as one” or “knotts”, strategies that go from subtility to complex shared paths. We awaken the tuning and the sense of team to create together fast trajectories in space. We put into practice the different eye ranges, detail, imagination, precision and playfulness. ROSER LÓPEZ ESPINOSA is a regular teacher at the Dance Conservatory of Barcelona / Institut del Teatre, a guest teacher at MTD in Amsterdam and ArtEZ Dansacademie in Arnhem (The Netherlands), La Caldera (Barcelona), Dansateliers (Rotterdam) and teaches workshops internationally. Her work and workshops have been programed at main European international festivals as well as in Egypt, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Canada and Japan. Music: Sérgio Mendes ft. Carlinhos Brown.
