How Korea’s Sex Trade Was Built For U.S. Soldiers

These women, who were tricked into a system of prostitution for U.S. soldiers, are sharing their stories for the first time. After a lifetime of shame, “Myung-suk” is breaking her silence to demand accountability from the U.S. military. The Korean Supreme Court in 2022 found the state guilty of encouraging a system of prostitution. The women who were suspected of having STDs were locked up in a detention center, also known as “monkey house,” as soldiers likened them to monkeys. U.S. medics treated the women with penicillin that sometimes killed them. Those who died in the detention center were buried in unmarked graves. #korea #military Subscribe for more videos: Follow us on Instagram: Like us on Facebook: Follow us on Twitter:
