How to design & simulate Dipole Antenna using CST Studio Suite

Here in this video we’ll show you how to design a Dipole Antenna using CST Studio Suite. This tutorial will comprise of a series of videos one after the other please do check those for better understanding. Software used- CST Studio Suite 2019 Steps to be followed- Step 1: Create a project template and click on the application area “Microwaves and RF /Optical“ and then select “Antennas“ Step2: After that select “wire“. Step3: Select “Time Domain“ and click on next Step4: Keep the default units and click on next. Step5: Set the frequency from 0.1 GHz to 2 GHz. Step6: Finish and save the project. Step7: For wire click on modelling and select the cylinder and press “Esc“ in your computer. Following window will pop up. Edit according to the dimensions and choose PEC and press OK. Step8: Again for gap click on modelling and select the cylinder and press “Esc“ in your computer. Following window will pop up. Edit according to the dimensions and choose PEC and press OK. Step 9: Substract Gap from Wire using Boolean substraction Step10: Select Center faces of Wire using face pick. Step11: Click on the Discrete port and following window will pop up. Edit as shown and press OK. Step 12: Click on the Field Monitor and following window will pop up. Edit as shown and press OK. Step 13: Then simulate by clicking on Setup Solver in Simulation. Step 14:Check S1,1 & Phi=0 &Theta=90 Results Step 15(Determination of directive gain): Go to post processing, then result template. In the result template, choose “Farfield and Antenna Properties“ and “Farfield result“ from the drop down a window titled “Farfield Result“ will pop up. Then go to All Settings. Then following window will pop up. Then do the necessary changes as shown. Also click on Plot Mode in the followingwindow and check the linear scaling. press OK. Step16: The template will now appear in “Template Based Post Processing“ window. Click on Evaluate to get the Directive result.
